(1) When this scientist was interviewed, it is very possible that the documentary was intended to be what they said it would be. I think in the interviews I linked to above, the producer actually mentions the fact that while they were in the production phase of the film and started gaining new material and interviews, they began to realize different things and the direction of the film started to change. (2) The scientist is very unscientific in the fact that he is unwilling to watch this film with an open mind, which is the major problem with the scientific community today: "I will go see this movie...and I will certainly disembowel its arguments... That's going to be fun." On top of all that, I don't think this film is intended to be pro Intelligent Design or pro Creationism. I think Ben Stein is an atheist, if I'm not mistaken. To me, it seems the intent of this film is to promote freedom of speech (with regards to scientific beliefs and inquiries) without the fear of losing your job or reputation as a scientist. I doubt this film will go into the details of why Intelligent Design is true or why Creationists are right and Darwinists are wrong. Two things are wrong with this picture.
